Cyber experts have issued a new warning for those using UPI apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm. In his warning, experts said that cyber criminals have found a new way to lime people these days. Fake apps are being resorted to to make users a victim of cheating. Especially these people are making shopkeepers and traders a victim.

For example, cyber criminals pretend to make UPI payment using these fake apps. While making payment, the soundbox kept in the shop also starts ringing that the payment is done, but there is no money in your account.
According to a report by Dacoan Chronicle, this method of cyber criminals has come in the eyes of experts. It has been cheated with shopkeepers through fake UPI app. These fake apps are being shared on platforms like Telegram. Experts said that when shopkeepers or traders are busy, they listen to the soundbox to check the payment on the phone. Cyber criminals take advantage of this and scam with them.
Be careful with fake apps
Cyber experts say that scammers have developed apps, copying the payment gateway that looks like UPI apps. These fake apps show the notification of payment to shopkeepers and traders. At the same time, if some fake apps are like this, they show the entire process of payment, but there is no money in the account of the person.
Experts have advised users in such a case not to rely on the sound of the soundbox. They check on their mobiles and make sure that the payment is received in their account. If you see someone making such a mess, then you can inform the police or you can complain to the cyber helpline number 1930 and complain about it.
