BSNL 4G
Government telecom company BSNL has got the biggest benefit from a big mistake of Jio, Airtel, Vi. Between July and October, there was a competition among people to port their numbers in BSNL’s network. The recent TRAI report has shocked the private telecom companies. BSNL has added record users to its network in the last 4 months. Apart from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, users of any other telecom operators have not increased. Mukesh Ambani’s company Reliance Jio has suffered the most loss. The country’s largest telecom company has lost more than 1 crore users.
BSNL has informed through its official The government telecom company has added a total of 6.5 million i.e. 65 lakh new users in these four months, out of which 55 lakh users are connected to BSNL’s network through MNP.
the mistake proved costly
Private telecom companies made their mobile recharge plans expensive in July. Private companies increased mobile tariffs by up to 25% to increase their average revenue per users (ARPU). The public, already facing the brunt of inflation, has ported its number to BSNL, showing a mirror to the private companies. Despite not having good connectivity, lakhs of users have turned to BSNL. Users using Jio, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea numbers as secondary SIMs got their numbers switched off.
However, BSNL has made full progress on its network expansion. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is preparing to launch 4G service simultaneously across India. The company has recently installed about 51 thousand new 4G mobile towers. The company has set a target of installing 1 lakh 4G mobile towers by June next year.
4G/5G service from next year
Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had recently said that BSNL 4G service will be launched commercially across India by June next year. Also, BSNL is now testing 5G service also. A senior BSNL official had recently confirmed that the company will not make the plans expensive in the near future. At present the main focus of BSNL is network expansion and adding users.
