Airlines passengers are going to get free Wi-Fi internet facility soon in flight. From the beginning of the next year, American Airlines passengers will be able to access free Wi-Fi in flight. American Airlines announced this on Tuesday 15 April. The airlines company has partnered with Telecom Company AT&T to access the passengers on the flight free Wi-Fi internet. These days, providing free Wi-Fi service to passengers among airlines companies has become a new battle.
However, American Airlines is not the first company that is providing Wi-Fi service to its Loyal Passengers for free. Two years ago, Delta Airlines also provided free Wi-Fi internet service to its passengers. For this, Delta Airlines announced a fruit flyer program. American Airlines will also provide this facility to its fruitful flyers. Last year, United Airlines also provided an in-flight internet facility by partnering Alan Musk’s company Starlink.
How to get internet facility in flight?
Internet service is delivered in two ways through Wi-Fi in flight. Airlines companies provide internet facility in flight using air-to-ground (ATG) or satellite-based system. The internet in the flight in the ATG system reaches through ground based mobile towers. At the same time, internet service inside the flight in the satellite based system is transported through satellite. Antina in flights receive satellites and transport the Internet, which passengers are able to access in their devices.
However, to provide internet service in flight, the aircraft has to reach a certain height from the ground surface. In-flight Wi-Fi service in aircraft in India is provided above 10 thousand feet.
