Most people around you will be seen paying through UPI. Scammers are also taking advantage of this facility of the general public. Cyber criminals are now making people who are using UPI.
An alert has been issued by the Unified Payment Interface to ensure that the public fraud and scam are not to be treated. By issuing an alert on behalf of UPI and NPCI, information has been given about how fraud can be avoided and money can be protected.
UPI has shared a post from its official X account regarding a new type of fraud. In this post, UPI has alerted crores of users about frauds from PAN Card 2.0. UPI has alerted users with this hashtag in the post. On behalf of UPI, it was said that not every upgrade is one step ahead, but some also completely eliminate your financial resources. The UPI has alerted customers making digital payments through this social media posts that cyber criminals are now making people a victim of cheating in the name of PAN card upgrade. UPI wrote in the post that ‘your PAN card has been blocked and give Aadhaar number and bank account information to upgrade PAN card 2.0’. It was told by the UPI that the fraudsters make such messages and make a victim of fraud. Therefore, do not share details like your bank account, PAN card, Aadhaar card with anyone.
Do this work to avoid fraud
- Do not click on any link coming on a message or social media platform
- Do not share details related to your bank account with any person.
- Do not give your PAN card number to anyone.
- Do not share Aadhaar card number with anyone.
- Do not trust the message or call coming in the name of PAN card upgrade.
