Vodafone Idea shares surge 2.65% on subsidiary’s ₹3,300 crore debenture issuance

Vodafone Idea shares gained 2.65 per cent to trade at ₹11.60 during afternoon trading on Thursday, following the company’s disclosure about a major fundraising exercise by its wholly owned subsidiary.

The stock opened at ₹11.42 and touched an intraday high of ₹11.74, with heavy trading activity of 16.86 lakh shares worth ₹783.98 crore recorded by 1.50 pm. The counter witnessed predominantly sell-side pressure, with 65.74 per cent of orders on the sell side against 34.26 per cent on the buy side.

Vodafone Idea informed stock exchanges on Wednesday that Vodafone Idea Telecom Infrastructure Limited (VITIL), its wholly owned subsidiary, has issued non-convertible debentures aggregating to ₹3,300 crore. The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.

The development follows an earlier communication dated December 9, 2025, regarding the same transaction. NCDs are debt instruments that cannot be converted into equity shares and provide companies with an avenue to raise capital while offering fixed returns to investors.

The stock has shown strong momentum recently, touching its 52-week high of ₹12.03 on December 15. Year-to-date, Vodafone Idea shares have gained 45.07 per cent, with the company’s total market capitalisation standing at ₹1,25,677.92 crore.
